Well. It has been too long since I got back on here and started plugging away. A lot of things have happened since the last time I was on here and made note of what was going on here at my place. I took stock of what was going on and realized that it was time to make some changes. I was looking in the mirror and told my reflection that it was time to get out and move on to the next stage in life. I needed to get out of retail.
In January, I accepted an inside sales position at Kali Protectives and continued on part-time, at the bike shop until they could transition in my replacement. It's September now and I think the owners at the shop have what they are looking for. I'm excited for them, because this month I had to make at least a one month break to focus on this month.
There is a lot going on in the cycling industry and Kali. This Tuesday, I fly out to Vegas for my first Interbike convention as a vender. I have been there before, as a dealer looking for the next big thing. Of course, two years ago, I think I found it in the company I now work for. As I prepare to get my "sell on", I reflect on the fact that I have been in this business for nearly 19 years and that by changing which side of the counter I sit on, I feel a bit of rejuvenation. Rejuvenated in the sense that I am still in the bike industry, now in the moto industry and I am meeting new people each and every day. Which brings me back to Interbike. I may have my selling shoes on, but this is the meet and greet that I have been waiting for since January when I got the call to join a staff that is now part of my extended family.
Yes, this is a sap piece, but as I move this blog along, I look to add more meaningful information, including Interbike updates, work in general, family habits, and what ever the hell else is going on. Hell, I will even be adding some reviews here of the various cycling items that I am using. Until next time...Cheers!
